This update fixes bugs with the brightness and contrast sliders, paper size adjustment and the documents send to Dropbox or Google Docs now have .pdf extension.

Brightness and contrast sliders
In the early versions users had to press a button to update the adjustemts with the sliders, but now the sliders work in realtime and you can see the results as you make adjustments.

Paper size adjustment
This bugfix enables users adjust what the function actually was ment for. Before this, the adjustment was overridden and the result wasn’t correct.

Google Docs and the Dropbox .pdf extension

Few minutes ago we released new Android version of DocScanner (1.50) This new version adds Google Docs integration. Now you can send documents directly to Google Docs.

Google Docs is a free, Web-based word processor, spreadsheet, presentation, form, and data storage service offered by Google. It allows users to create and edit documents online while collaborating in real-time with other users. Google Docs combines the features of Writely and Spreadsheets with a presentation program incorporating technology designed by Tonic Systems. Data storage of any files up to 1GB each in size was introduced on January 13, 2010.

One more reason to use Google Docs is that it makes OCR to the scanned docs. Google Docs also plays nice with Android.

Greetings for Stockholm, Sweden. I just wanted to announce that DocScanner 3.4.1 for the iPhone is now released. This minor release fixes some issues with iDisk and WebDAV integrations and speeds them up. This release also added a possibility to turn off automatic portrait/landscape view with the documents. As always we are busy developing a new release of DocScanner. This time we include new features like:

  • Annotating Documents
  • Google Docs integration
  • Dropbox integration (we will likely release this before big 3.6 release) UPDATE: We included this in 3.4.2

We have not forgotten Android and S60 too. Android is going to have new release in this month (UPDATE: DocScanner 1.3 for Android was released 19th May 2010) and S60 in the next.

Best,

Tuomas

We have received lots of questions about iDisk settings. Most of the problems are caused by setting username to email causing DocScanner to give error: “402 Payment Required”. So please set up iDisk username as follows:

If your email is john.smith@me.com your user name is john.smith
